Helpers and Shoppers are Needed
For our Homespun Holiday Bazaar
The annual, much-anticipated Homespun Holiday Bazaar is Friday, Nov.3 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, crochet, knit and sewn items, Granny's Attic, baked goods, community vendors, the large book sale and the return of the takeout lunch are all on the agenda for your shopping delight!
Proceeds will benefit ministries supporting women and children here and across the world, as well as Hamburg UMC.
Before we shop, though, we need to prepare and so:
- We want to remind you that we need donations of high-quality, clean garage sale items for Granny's Attic, as well as gently used books for the book sale.
-There are sign-up sheets for helping out on the counter in the Gathering Area. Here are specifically when help is needed:
Sunday, Oct. 29 (after the service) to help move items in preparation for bazaar setup.
During the week of the bazaar, help will be needed with table setup and other tasks:
Wednesday, Nov. 1 - 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 2 - 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 5 (11:45 a.m.) - Break down and cleanup crew!
Get Your Pre-Sale Takeout Lunch Tickets
Now on sale starting Oct. 8 are the "hot pre-sale" tickets of the Bazaar: Soup and Dessert tickets. We will be selling the tickets after worship service through Oct. 22.
For just $8 you will receive soup/chili of your choice, crackers, and dessert (pie or cake). The choices are Ed's famous chicken noodle, Rick's famous beef vegetable, and Paul's famous chili.
You can pick up your takeout meal during the hours of the Bazaar on either day.
A successful pre-sale will help us plan best! (But the meals will be available for purchase during the bazaar, too.)
If you have any questions, please let me know. by email or call 716-713-9548. Thank you so much. Rose

Adult Sunday School
John Meader’s Adult Sunday School class is meeting each Sunday at 9am in the
Parlor. Presently we are using Max Lucado’s book, Help is Here, and the
accompanying DVD to learn more about the Holy Spirit. All are welcome!
Our little pantry at Sparks of Hope is nearly empty, and our shelves are bare. Members of our recovery community rely on your generosity to see them through the hard times. Please drop off nonperishable groceries when Sparks is open, or leave them inside the pantry.
The Church office is glad to announce that services going forward will be streamed via YouTube Live, in addition to the current Facebook Live services. You can access the Youtube live stream on our Youtube Channel, or directly on our church website homepage.

CALL TO WORSHIP God spoke from the Mountain and said: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.” Almighty God, write your law upon our hearts.
“You shall not make for yourself an idol. you shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God. Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy.”
Almighty God, write your law upon our hearts.
“Honor your father and mother. you shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal
your shall not bear false witness.
You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Almighty God, write your law upon our hearts.

OPENING PRAYER Almighty God,
you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you;
and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or more are gathered together in his name, you will be in the midst of them. Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us:
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen
