UMCOR Sunday - March 10, 2024

For more than 50 years, United Methodist congregations have been taking part in a special UMCOR Sunday offering laying the foundation for UMCOR’s ministry of relief and hope. Donations that UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) receives through this offering are used for administrative costs making it possible for UMCOR to use 100% of all other contributions for disaster relief projects. Use electronic giving or your personal check sent to the church designating an amount for UMCOR Sunday, March 10 or any Sunday thereafter.

BELL CHOIR PRELUDE: “As the Deer” & “Morning Has Broken”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Out of the depths  I cry to you,  O Lord! Lord, hear my voice!

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,

Lord, who could stand?

But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be worshipped.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, in the Lord’s word I hope;

my soul waits for the Lord

more than those who watch for the morning,

more than those who watch for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord!

For with the Lord there is steadfast love, with the Lord is plenteous redemption.

And the Lord will redeem Israel from all iniquities.

OPENING MUSIC: “O God Who Shaped Creation” #443 UMH

OPENING PRAYER: O Lord, open my eyes that I may see the needs of others; open my ears that I may hear their cries; open my heart so that they will not be without succor;let me not be afraid to defend the weak because of the anger of the strong, nor afraid to defend the poor because of the anger of the rich.Show me where love, hope, and faith are needed, and use me to bring them to those places.and so open my eyes and my ears that I may this coming day be able to do

some work of peace for thee. Amen.
