Introducing our Treasurer
Emily Slocum
We welcome Emily Slocum, who was recently appointed Treasurer for our church after a search process by the Staff Parish Relations Committee. After some transition time with Kathy Manguso, our outgoing treasurer, she is quickly coming up to speed on her new role.
Emily has her Bachelor’s in accounting from Hilbert College and her Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Bonaventure University. Emily started her professional career as an accounts payable clerk at Mayer Bros Apple Products in 2017, then became a Senior Accountant at Delaware North before landing her current role as Senior Cost Accountant at Prestolite Electric in Arcade, NY.
Emily currently resides in Hamburg with her husband, Ryan, her step-daughters, Molly & Stella, her 5 month-old son, Charlie, and family dogs, Chewie and Apollo. Emily loves to cook, decorate cookies, and paint Buffalo scenes. Emily’s favorite places in the Buffalo area include Silo City, the Buffalo Outer Harbor, and the Buffalo Central Terminal!
If you need to reach Emily, email her at treasurer@hamburgumc.org.
We look forward to introducing you to Emily during our June 16 service.
Again, welcome Emily!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP
Sing! Sing to the Lord a new song!
for “new every morning” mercies,
for “What the Lord has done for you!”
Sing! Sing to the Lord a new song!
for forgiving the sin that only you and God know about,
for grace that is more than sufficient.
Sing! Sing to the Lord a new song!
for every mountain, you brought us over,
for hardship, you saw us through,
our souls sing, “Hallelujah, yes, and amen.”
OPENING MUSIC: “This is My Father’s World” #144 UMH
OPENING PRAYER:
We confess to you, all-knowing God, what we are.
We are not the people we like others to think we are.
We are afraid to admit, even to ourselves, what lies in the depths of our souls.
But we cannot hide our true selves from you.
You know us as we are, and yet you love us.
Help us not to shrink from self-knowledge.
Teach us to respect ourselves for your sake.
Give us the courage to put our trust in your guiding power.
Raise us out of the paralysis of guilt into the freedom and energy of forgiven people.
And for those who through long habit find forgiveness hard to accept,
we ask you to break the chains of their bondage and set them free;
through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen
