Granny finished cleaning her attic

how are you doing with your treasures?

Granny’s finished collecting treasures from her attic—and you should be collecting too! It’s time to start gathering those clean, gently used household items that she’ll proudly display and sell at this year’s Bazaar.

Important Reminder from Granny:

She’s tough but fair—only clean, usable household goods will be accepted.

No appliances, please!

Room 19 is now open for donations.

This year’s Annual Bazaar, hosted by the United Women in Faith and supported by the whole church, will be held November 7 & 8. In addition to all your favorite traditions—like the bake sale, pecans and fruitcakes, and the soup and chili sale—this year’s event will also feature an expanded vendor fair in place of the usual HUWF crafts.

Questions? Contact Bazaar Co-Chairs: Rose Caldwell or Sue Gagne.

Ongoing Fundraiser Little Lamb Fundraiser:

Please consider donating your empty bottles and cans to the Bottle & Can Redemption Center at 4255 Clark Street in Hamburg. Thank you!

Join our Communion team.

Bring your passion for baking to our Communion bread-baking group and connect with like-minded individuals! Our six-week rotation schedule allows for flexibility and we provide a contact sheet to facilitate communication. If you're unavailable on your scheduled date, simply arrange a switch with a fellow member.

To join, contact Sue Gagne at 716-648-3460.

Join Us in Reading Through the Bible in 2025

Would you consider reading through the Bible in 2025? Together as a church community, we can embark on this yearlong journey of faith and discovery. A Bible in a Year reading plan is available outside the church office and will also be published monthly in the newsletter. You can also access it online here: Bible in a year reading plan

Dedicating about 20 minutes a day to Scripture is a wonderful way to grow closer to God. Many who have done this discipline before share how it reveals surprising connections between different parts of the Bible and provides a deeper understanding of God’s love and guidance.

We hope you’ll join us on this meaningful journey of faith and exploration!

We are opening this ministry up to Individuals or families who would be willing to occasionally be hosts or hostesses.

It’s simply making coffee, lemonade, bringing homemade or store bought items, and cleaning up afterwards.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

As a shepherd seeks a lost sheep,

So God seeks and saves the lost.

Like a woman who searches for a lost coin until it is found,

So God rejoices over one soul restored to wholeness.

As a father receives a returning wayward son,

So God welcomes us, and lets the past be the past.

Therefore let us praise God in thanksgiving that we are received.

Let us receive and welcome and rejoice over one another

In the name of Jesus Christ.

OPENING HYMN: ”Invisible Immortal God Only Wise” #103 UMH

OPENING PRAYER:

O God, you have come in Jesus Christ,

Tending to all who are bent in pain,

To those separated from others by disease

Or bound by death’s power.

Come to us now, as tender touch,

Healing balm, and liberating relief.

Urge us to move in new ways;

Encourage us to embrace the discomforts of becoming whole;

Remove from us the fear of relentless pain.

As Jesus spoke to so many and touched your hurting people,

Come now, speak to us, and touch us.

Restore us by your living and amazing grace. Amen
