Wondering How You Can Help the People of Ukraine?

United Methodists and others wishing to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion of their country may contribute to Advance #982450, UMCOR International Disaster Response and Recovery. This fund will provide direct assistance to those in Ukraine as well as assistance to Ukrainians fleeing to neighboring countries.

Gifts to support the people of Ukraine can be made in the following ways:

  • By toll free telephone: 888-252-6174

  • By check with “Advance #982450-Ukraine” written on the memo line, either mailed and addressed to Global Ministries/UMCOR, GPO, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY, 10087-9068 or given at or through any United Methodist church

One hundred percent of all Advance contributions go to the designated cause.

The United Methodist community in Ukraine, though quite small, is actively engaged in assisting neighbors in need. Global Ministries is in touch with the Church’s leadership as well as with church leaders in countries welcoming those who are fleeing from violence in Ukraine.

Risen with Christ, let us seek the realities of the Spirit. Our life is hidden with Christ in God.

He who descended is also ascended far above the heavens, that he might fill all things. When Christ appears, our Life, appears, We shall appear with him in glory! Alleluia! OPENING HYMN: “Hail the Day that Sees Him Rise” #312 UMH

OPENING PRAYER Ever living God, your eternal Christ once dwelt on earth, confined by time and space. Give us faith to discern in every time and place the presence among us of him who is head over all things and fills all, even Jesus Christ our ascended Lord. Amen

SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:15-23 Read by: Cheryl Bell Luke 24:44-53

SERMON ”Ambassadors” Rev. David Nicol CHOIR ANTHEM: “Patriotic Medley”

THE PEACE TITHES & OFFERINGS DOXOLOGY “Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow” #94 UMH

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

...And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven

we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

...And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,

we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving

as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us,

as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

...Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,

all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father (God ), now and for ever. Amen.
