Sparks of Hope Recovery Support Center will be hosting an open house on Saturday July 23, 2022. As always we are most grateful for the love and support that we receive from pastor David and our church family, here at HUMC. Our goal is to make people in our community aware of Sparks of Hope and also the great number of other agencies in our area that specialize in Recovery support. A number of their representatives will be present at the open house. Keep us in your prayers and any from of assistance (now and always) would be appreciated.

Book Club will meet Monday, June 27, in the Library to discuss Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain. Please join us to design a reading list for the Fall when Karen Klimecko will keep us on the straight and narrow for 2022-23.

This fund will provide direct assistance to those in Ukraine as well as assistance to Ukrainians fleeing to neighboring countries.

Gifts to support the people of Ukraine can be made in the following ways:

  • Online at https://umcmission.org/advance-project/982450

  • By toll free telephone: 888-252-6174

  • By check with “Advance #982450-Ukraine” written on the memo line, either mailed and addressed to Global Ministries/UMCOR, GPO, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY, 10087-9068 or given at or through any United Methodist church

One hundred percent of all Advance contributions go to the designated cause.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP Come to Christ, that living stone, rejected by the world, but in God’s sight chosen and precious. We have responded to Christ’s call, and seek to be built into a spiritual house, a living reminder of God’s presence on earth. Once we were no people, but now we are God’s people, called out of the darkness into God’s marvelous light. Therefore we sing with the church in all ages: Blessed be your name, O God, our Redeemer. By your mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. OPENING HYMN: “Here I am Lord”#593 UMH

OPENING PRAYER Almighty and everlasting God, in whom we live and movie and have our being, you created us for yourself, so that our hearts are restless until they find rest in you. grant to us such piety of heart and strength of purpose that no selfish passion may hinder us from knowing your will, and no weakness from doing it. In your light may we see life clearly and in your service find perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen CHILDREN’S MESSAGE

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

THE PEACE TITHES & OFFERINGS tithes.hamburgumc.org/Give DOXOLOGY “Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow” #94 UMH

GREAT THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

...And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven

we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

...And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,

we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving

as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us,

as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

...Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,

all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father (God ), now and for ever. Amen.
